- Questioning the necessarity of the Indonesian Sociologists and what so called academistic *Budayawan*.
METHODS
Experimentally, Kopitalisme implemented by using some of the cafes and warung kopi (traditional coffee shops) all around the city of Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia in 1996 to 2004 in order to spread the thoughts. It's also advocates the local government, businessmen and organizations, cultural groups, national and local intellectuals of how to deal with the issues of *Globalization*.
The results of these experiments -among other things- were collective consciousness of environmental awareness, peace and cultural understanding, between the local community of Makassar, local government, president of the universities, students, artists, workers, businessmen, religious groups in 2003. Along with the agendas of social-economic empowerments.
Continously and actively posting some of the *Kopitalistic Verses* into online medias such as blogs, websites, mailing lists, online forums. Locally and Nationally.
Monitoring and following the lines between the *Kopitalistic* issues and contents on online medias into the offline medias, such as newspapers and televisions.
The Lies of Words (KutuKata)
One of the methode that we use, is creating new words and meanings. One of the purpose of this words creation is to see how effective mailing lists are can be used in order to spread the message, thoughts and ideas.
Some of the words created by Kopitalisme, are: TuHanTu (Tuhan=God, Hantu=Ghost) and JournaLipstick.
The term of ´Kopitalisme´ itself later being found as a title of ´life style´ (Gaya Hidup) article in -one of the- main National newspaper of Indonesia named Republika (click here) The article smells like a Public Relation job, for Starbucks Indonesia.
Kopitalistic Verses
It's an unique style of writings, by creating and playing with words, paronomasias, and also by using and quoting some of the rock songs and lyrics, like Queen, Duran Duran, Bon Jovi, John Lennon, etc.
